OUR FOUNDER
Founded in London in 2023, The Oyster Society was created to redefine the oyster experience. Drawing on years of event expertise and oyster knowledge from the Netherlands, founder Dominique Carpentier envisioned oysters not just as a delicacy, but as an interactive, captivating form of culinary theatre.

We don’t just hire friendly faces; we invest in our team. Every hostess undergoes specialised training to become an oyster expert. They’re knowledgeable about the oysters we serve, their origins, and farming practices.
More than just serving, our hostesses are skilled at creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. They’ll interact with your guests, answer questions, and share fascinating oyster facts, ensuring everyone feels involved and entertained.

Our signature service, the Interactive Oyster Experience, is designed to captivate and engage. We’re obsessed with quality and freshness, which is why we work exclusively with the best oyster farms and source only the highest-grade oysters, harvested just hours before your event. Our expert oyster shuckers roam your event, offering guests an unparalleled taste of the sea—quite possibly the freshest oysters they’ve ever experienced! It’s more than just a culinary experience; it’s an opportunity to learn, discover, and savour the unique flavours of the sea.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from sourcing the finest oysters to minimising our environmental impact.
Local Partnerships: We prioritise local products whenever possible, supporting local businesses and reducing our carbon footprint. Our Maldon oysters, for example, are sourced directly from the renowned Maldon oyster beds in Essex, ensuring the freshest, most sustainable shellfish while championing local producers.
Oysters: Nature’s Water Filters - Oysters are not only delicious but also play a vital role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems. As natural filter feeders, they help purify the water, improve water clarity, and support biodiversity.
